Quiet day today. Another round of gathering provisions. We are learning the ropes of being pedestrians. Traffic is crazy here. They have rules, but very few. There are more stop lights here than in some areas of Latin America. We are learning to take advantage of the lights. Still, you have to be light on your feet. Cars seem to come out of nowhere. Without lights, you run. If you are lucky, an Ecudoriano will be crossing at the same place. Follow them. We are in a liitle enclave. There are some small shops around our building. One is a snack shop. We have been getting bottled water there - saves hauling it from SuperMaxi. The Vendadora is quite charming. She sells good Chilean wine at a discount to "Americanos". Also, we have a seafood store. We bought a bag of shrimp for tonight. We will have a shrimp pasta dish, ecuadoriano style. There are pastelarias about every two feet here. We loaded up with bread and pastries today. It will be hard to shed some pounds with those around. Sunday will be quiet. Plan to take photos tomorrow. Will post some of the hotel area tonight.
Photos are of the apartment.
