Today was the official last day of guitar lessons. Pablo wants me to come back for a few more after the Galapagos. We will see. Worked more on the bolero of Julio Jaramillo. Also, a brief introduction to Cumbia. It is a very fast rhythm that accents on the upbeat. Not something I am used to - it seems simple but I was struggling to get it right. It is very cool, though.
It was strange hitting my spots (on the way to guitar lessons) for the last time (maybe) today. There is an old man that I pass every day. I gave up talking to him because I couldn't understand him. But we exchange greetings everyday. He was out one afternoon when Becky and I were walking into town. He really wanted to talk to her. We couldn't understand him, but he really had something to say. Yesterday, I walked by and said 'buenos dias' as usual. He said 'good morning' in perfect English. I was slightly stunned. He must have practiced that for days. I said 'good morning', also. Today, was the same. I said 'how are you' in English and Spanish. He seemed to get it, but didn't try it. I wonder if he is practicing that. We should see him before we leave.
Becky is at Las Cajas today. I think she was the only person, so she may have the guide to herself. Should be some good pictures to post tonight.
